Does a bulge in front tyre sound like a faulty wheel bearing noise when travelling?

my volvo v70 (99) has a nearside front noise. sounds like wheel bearing but doesnt change pitch when turning left or right like it normaly does. i know volvos have complex front bearings which may account for it not changing pitch. please help as bearing is pricey and i dont want to waste money.

The bulge is a safety critical fault. Replace it ASAP. It is caused by internal structural failure, meaning you may have kerbed it. Thus the wheel bearing has taken a hit too. Tyre first, bearing may need replacement, also the hub might be bent, and the knuckle out of alignment.

Not the bearing. The noise would usually become louder when placing a load on the wheel.

Bulge in tire? not likely. May be your brakes rubbing.
you have a bearing going or you have tyre separation, result a blebb, its easy to rule out a tyre by looking ,a bearing is a little bit more complex so its a process of elimination.
i would worry more about the bulge in your tire before the noise.
the easiest way to check if there is play in the wheel bearing is to jack up the car place one hand on the top of the wheel one on the bottom and try to move the wheel towards and away from you if there is no lateral movement then your wheel bearings are ok, are your wheel bolts tight.

And if there is a bulge in your tyre replace it before it bursts and creates an accident creating more trouble and expence.
If you think that you may have a bulge on a tyre, check that immediately, check the wheel bearings by checking side play with the wheel off the bottom.

better still get it checked at a garage.but if your worried about being stung be there when they check it.
Easy way to check your suspicion yourself, put your spare wheel on the nearside front. if the noise goes away then it was the bulge, if it does not, then it was not. Take you 1/2 hour at very most.
