How do you change a rear wheel bearing on a 2004 chevy impala ls?

It's a sealed unit. You have to remove the wheel, remove the brake caliper %26amp; rotor. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor behind the hub bearing your replacing. Remove the 4 bolts that hold it to the knuckle. Install new bearing asy.

I don't know what you're dealing with specifically, but if it's a problem of an interference fit and a lack of tools to extract it, I have a solution for you.

Loosen the axle nut just one turn and replace the cotter pin. Drive the car around for a day and it will be loose enough to remove.
