98 grand cherokee rear wheel bearing removal way too hard?

has anyone changed out the rear wheel bearings on a 98 jeep grand cherokee? i've been banging on it with a slide hammer and it's taking forever. i have to take 2 day intervals just to have enough energy and my hands hurt horribly. is there a trick to getting them off?

You probably need to repair the rear differential if you didn't take the retainers out.

Uh, rear wheel bearings should come out quite a bit easier than this. You've forgotten a step somewhere along the way. Back up and re-read the manual. It shouldn't take any more than a few good slaps.
STOP what your doing....

Did you remove the rear housing cover and follow the procedures

listed in your repair manual ?

Just a quick heads up here..
