Wheel bearing on 05 f150 fx4?
Assuming it is the front wheel bearing you are referring to, it is replaced as a hub and bearing assembly. For the front wheel bearing you will need to remove the brake caliper and pads as an assembly (two 18mm bolts) and support it by hanging onto one of the coils of the front spring. Remove the brake rotor (it just knocks off). You will then need to disconnect the ABS wheel speed sensor connected to the frame (as the new hub and bearing assembly comes with a new sensor). You will then need to knock off the small end cap with a flat blade screwdriver. Once removed, remove the nut retaining the end of the shaft (13mm). Once removed, remove the four 18mm bolts on the back side of the steering knuckle and the hub and bearing assembly simply pulls out. A puller is not necessary on the particular vehicle. Installation is just the exact reverse of removal. The torque specs are 20 ft-lbs. for the axle shaft nut, and 148 ft-lbs. for both the caliper and bracket assembly bolts as well as the four hub and bearing retaining bolts. Hope this helps.
